ความเป็นมา (introduction)

The purpose of this project is to improve the public area inside the multipurpose port of Koh Phangan that has been used for a long time, resulting in problems such as dilapidation of port area, insufficiency of public area and degradation of natural resources. The project goals include redesigning landscape architecture for good visual impression, creating convenient public space for tourists and locals, and inventing unique identity for Koh Phangan based on history, culture and nature with the hope of raising public awareness of the value of Koh Phangan, as well as the conservation and restoration of natural resources that are the highlight of sustainable tourism.

แนวคิด (concept)

The vision is “International Community Port and Recreation Park – The Gate of Koh Phangan”. The design framework is the connecting space of the pier and community with nature and culture.

วางผัง (planning)

This project consists of six parts: the pier, the recreation area, the knowledge area, the preserving area, the service area, and the parking lot. The design of the project places importance on the study of site potentials, circulation systems, user behaviors, image and identity of Koh Phangan, and natural environment. The axises connected with the main road and roundabout. Defining the areas into the commercial area, the park and open space area, the beach area, and the service area.

รายละเอียด (details)

The design area consists of three areas: The Pier, Lively Beach Park, and Water Beach Park. These areas are connected by natural resources such as green space from landscape architecture and beach landscape. The Pier, multipurpose port of Koh Phangan is the main area provided for tourists and locals connecting other areas which are redesignated into recreation parks.
